The Fear Factor

The word cancer tends to elicit a fear response in most people. No one wants to be diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is seen to be tantamount to death. The words go together. It is because cancer is a device of our enemy, Satan, who is the author of confusion. His purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. Cancer happens when normal cells get confused about what role they are suppose to fulfill and become something they were never intended to be. They rebel...just like the author of confusion did.
Cancer does not scare me. It is not because cancer can't hurt me, if left to fulfill it's course, it most certainly can. In fact, it can kill me. But I am aware of a greater power. A power stronger than death. Jesus Christ beat death by rising from the grave Himself, and the Bible says,"If the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, He will quicken your mortal body."
Even if cancer won by death, I am not afraid, because I can't really die. I am assured to live forever in God's presence.
But we Christians must understand that death is still the enemy. It cuts short the plans of God for a life. It is a battle won by the enemy because it snuffs out life. Jesus is life. He came to give life. We should never give up the battle for life or buy the 'Well, I guess it was just God's will' excuse for our failure to fight the battle. We are at war!
Pain is another word that brings fear. No one likes to suffer. I have been in some pain lately. Pain can be either good or bad. I do not try to interpret it. It can be healing or a symptom of something going wrong. I do not let pain lie to me. The Bible tells me I am healed. Jesus purchased healing on the cross with my salvation. Done deal.
The bottom line is: fear causes chemical reactions in our bodies that suppress our immune systems. It is a tool of the devil. If he can get our eyes off God and on to the thing we fear (cancer or pain), he has won. The Lord wrapped me in a protective cloak before the diagnosis of cancer. It is not in my own strength that I am not fearful, it is because of His Divine help. I cannot take credit. The same strenght and peace He has given me He will give to you. He is no respector of persons. Don't let the enemy get your eyes off the One Who is life.

  2. Dear Friend,

Awesome post! It ministered to me tonight in a big way. My sister was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma (cancer in her uterus). Not what she, I or her family was expecting to hear. She meets with an OBGYN Surgeon Oncologist this coming Wednesday. She has already been told by her regular OBGYN that she will need a full hysterectomy. The waiting is long. She just wants to get it over with and know where she stands with all of this.

My prayers are with you new friend. I pray that whatever cancer that has been present in your body, that the manifestation of complete and total body healing occurs at this very moment in time...that your body is made completely healthy and whole in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

    Love you,
    Alleluiabelle

Blessings to you and your family!

  4. JESUS IS LIFE!! Amen to that!

Denise --- be careful not to give the devil [satan] more credit that he deserves. Many people have said that "God is never the author of confusion". But that is ONLY true for us as believers. He will not cause [or author] confusion in OUR lives when He is working all things for our good - to bring Him glory.

However --- Our God can be and often IS the author of confusion AGAINST our enemy the devil. One place this is seen in Scripture [and there are many] is in Exodus during the crossing of the red sea.

    Exodus 14:23-25
23 The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. 24 During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. 25 He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, "Let's get away from the Israelites! The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt."

It says.... "The LORD looked down and threw [the army] into confusion"... and it says, "the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt [the enemy]!

Isn't that wonderful news??? God will do whatever it takes to our enemy - including throwing him into confusion - in order for the LORD to fight FOR us - and win our battles!

Let Him fight FOR you, Denise, in whatever manner He chooses. But don't give satan too much credit - as God is the author of all life - including satan's life.... and God has satan on a short leash that's getting tighter by the minute.

Praying with you in faith Believing God that He will take you THROUGH this battle - whether in a miraculous healing on earth [and yes, He still does that today] or whether in the ultimate healing in heaven where you begin the rest of your eternal LIFE!!! It's a win-win situation!!

Glory to God. You rest secure!
